SUN SHINES ON GREENS (AND THE REST) AS CAMPAIGN HEATS UP

Glasgow has been blessed with so much sunshine that campaigning has been an (almost) unadulterated pleasure. I do have to remind myself from time to time, however, that the sun is shining on the other parties too! The feedback on the street has been positive, reinforcing the other good news we’ve had in the polls (Scotland on Sunday again putting Greens on 8 MSPs today).

The campaign has had some downsides – “I’m not voting” has been the saddest (and sometimes the loudest) voice. I have also been accused of being drunk (it was lemonade, I swear) and heard some bizarre and worrying views (some people don’t like human rights). Generally, however, it has been a positive experience, and I’ve had the chance to meet new members and chat with the public about green issues out-with the bubble of the branch.

We’ll be out at Glasgow Uni tomorrow and Strathclyde on Wednesday, so hopefully we still have a chance to convince a few more young people that the best option on Thursday is to Second Vote Green.
